Heatwave in London: Where to Get Ice Fast
In a London heatwave, supermarket freezers empty fast. Here's how to make sure you still have ice.
1. Order delivery before the hot day
The surest way is to order a day ahead. With Nice Ice, order by 5pm for next-day delivery, Monday to Saturday – or book your date in advance when a heatwave is forecast.
2. Need it today?
We don't do same-day delivery, but you can WhatsApp us on 07574 927 847 to arrange a pick-up from our ice factory in Tottenham, N17.
3. Shops and supermarkets
Small bags are sold in many supermarkets and corner shops, but stock often runs out on hot weekends. See supermarket vs delivered ice.
4. Buy more than you think
Ice melts faster in a heatwave – plan about 1–1.5kg per guest and round up. Guide: how much ice do I need?
5. Make it last
Keep ice in a freezer or a full cooler in the shade, and don't open the lid more than you need to. Tips: how long does ice last in a cooler?
